Safety Patrol Trip to Great Lakes Aquarium and Adventure Zone. An amazing time was had by all!
Calling all 5th-12th grade football players! Hibbing High School is hosting the 2nd Annual Robert Tate Football Camp this summer. The camp will be held on Thursday, June 15th and Friday, June 16th at the New Cheever Stadium in Hibbing. This camp is open to athletes from all over the region. Each day the players will practice/play either offense or defense and switch the following day.
Robert Tate was drafted as a wide receiver by the Minnesota Vikings in 1997. He later switched to cornerback midway through the 1999 season. Tate played nine seasons in the NFL, also playing for the Baltimore Ravens and Arizona Cardinals.
Coach Tate brings with him a number of former players from Division I, II, III, NAIA, and the pros to help coach the kids!
The Robert Tate Football Camp is broken into two sessions, one for younger players and the other for high school athletes.
5th – 8th grade players: 9am – 11:30am.
9th – 12th grade players: 1pm – 4pm
The cost is $75 per player. Scholarships are available. Attached is the flyer with QR code for sign up.
Any students in grades 9-12 interested in attending this should see Mr. Vake to get the link to sign-up.

I would like to nominate Tony Perez for the hard work he has been
doing and for continuing to work on his personal goals.
Kaylob Newcom – Math Scholar - Nominated by Mrs. Yuretich
Kaylob has done a great job in geometry this year. He always participates in class discussion, is often right, but is also not afraid to be wrong. He puts himself out there to make meaningful contributions to our discussion and is willing to learn from his mistakes. During independent work time, he not only gets his work done, but helps others who are struggling. Kaylob sets a great example!
Orry Frost – Math Scholar – Nominated by Mr. Milani
Orry is doing a great job in class. He missed some time and jumped right back in and got caught up quickly. He is active during the lesson and he uses his work time efficiently. Keep up the great work, Orry.

Sunnie has had consistent good grades in math all school year. On top of getting her work done and participating in class discussions, Sunnie also can be found helping her classmates during both work time and down time. The Chisholm Elementary and High School are going to be participating in a KONA ICE Fundraiser for Bluestreak Pride on Wednesday May 24th. The goal is for every student in the Elementary to get a Kona Cup and fill it with some shaved ice and toppings. We also know there are some students who cannot afford the $6.00 cost for the fundraiser. If you are willing to sponsor some of those students for the fundraiser, you can drop your check or cash off in the High School with Mary Jo or Mr. Vake.
Cost is $6.00 per person
Thank you for your help and support our students! #bluestreakpride
Mrs. Williams – Nominated by Gage Schindler
I am nominating Mrs.Williams for Staff of the week because she is so nice and supportive. She is very direct in what we have to do for tech and her attitude is amazing. She always puts a smile on my face when I walk into her room. She’s just awesome and I like her accent.
ENGLISH SCHOLARS
Coeurd’ Alene Dahl– Nominated by Mr. Boehm
Laney is always in class on time; she is prompt to try understanding difficult assignments and is always ready to ask questions when she needs help. I chose Laney as my English Scholar because she comes to class with the intention to learn and not disrupt. Laney also enjoys reading, so she does not need my seal of approval to be an English Scholar! Get it Laney! Congratulations!
Nathan Splinter – Nominated by Mr. Backstrom
Nathan has done a wonderful job this year doing his work and honoring his responsibilities. Thank you for the fun conversations this year!

7th graders had a blast at this years Iron Range Science and Engineering Festival on Wednesday May 3 2023. Tony volunteered and was asked to check if the banana was real before the presenter dipped it in liquid nitrogen and then used it to hammer nails into a board….The Raptor Center was a favorite where we learned about the Red tail hawk, Kestrel,Great Horned Owl, and Eagle. We jammed to tunes and fun laser light show after learning the many different ways lazers are used every day.
