Hi! My name is Sheryle Cuffe and I wil be teaching the Nursing Assistant course here at CHS this semester. I have been teaching this course at Hibbing Community College for the past 10 years. This fall, we are offering this course here at CHS, so the students will be receiving both college credits and high school credit for the course. Students will learn to perform basic cares such as bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, ambulating, toileting and others. The students will also do a clinical experience at a local nursing home, to apply their skills to practice. Upon completion of the course, the students will take the state competency test, which consists of a written and skills test, and will receive their Nursing Assistant certificate.
Following this course, the students will complete the First Responder course, also taught by a Hibbing Community College instructor, which will complete the fall 2015 semester.
