Saved by the Bell!
Hi! Welcome to My Classes.

Currently I teach Geography 8, History 10, History 7, Current Events (Grades 10-12), & Advanced Computer Technology (Grades 9-12).

My classes mix together Current Events & History helping students understand the past and how it affects the present. The most informative and famous quote (which makes history so important) is "To learn from our past or else we will end up making the same mistakes again."
Throughout the school year my students look at many informative power points, analyze pictures, watch videos, and engage in statistical information. We also encounter map work projects used to help student's focus on certain topics from different viewpoints.
Watching the daily news everyday helps us stay updated on how countries with their different populations change politically & economically.
Geography
Welcome to my Geography 8 class! My students start out looking at the scientific study of our universe, planets, & dimensions of Earth before diving right into different country studies. We look at all sorts of information, statistics, & pictures through power point presentations. My students utilize map work assignments to help understand the many physical analysis of the world we live in. We take on a city building project where students engage in the physical inner and outer dynamics of large cities.
History 7
Welcome to my History 7 class! We take a look at the building of our Country starting with Early Native Peoples to the Exploration Period and all the way through Colonization, French/Indian War, The Revolution, Westward Expansion, Spanish American War, The Alamo, & The Industrialization Period. We use mapwork as a guide to understanding changes throughout the globe and the landmasses. We use powerpoints to guide students in understanding the important people involved, the events that occurred, & the reasons why. We also use videos/movies to enhance the understanding and experiences of these past timelines.
American History 10
Welcome to History 10!! The Students develop their own powerpoint presentations which helps build team work skills in taking ownership learning various topics. We also use videos/movies to enhance the understanding and experiences of these past timelines
Advanced Technology
Welcome to my Advanced Technology class! My students are in the 1st floor computer lab everyday platooning between working on Keyboarding and Microsoft Office application skills. We also use the 3rd floor chemistry lab to take apart and build PC tower computers as one of our biggest projects of the year! The different office platforms teachings will allow students to expand their abilities to create Formal letters, Birthday card making, Outlining using Headings, Access Manuals, Feedback Surveys, & Table/Chart creation. PowerPoint projects include Vacation explorations, Sales/Business outlines, Informative Rock Bands, & Interactive Surveys. We also use iMovie and Jing applications to create video editing assignments from interviews and research The Keyboarding software will engage students into learning formal typing skill patterns - maintaining home row hand placements while building muscle memory of vital keystroke approaches. The focus is on speed and accuracy (reducing the mistakes) over time. In the 3rd Floor lab students take apart tower PCs and learn all the components necessary for computer hardware updating and functioning. They also learn to install operational software in bios mode. This is the class where ( if you buy a complete PC kit) your son or daughter can build it for you from scratch! They work just as good (if not better & cheaper) than what you buy in a store. The price for our work and product is 250 dollars (covering the cost of the parts). Lastly, Advanced tech students receive some experience seeing the realities of technology specialist type work by taking on some apprenticeship duties within the school.
