8.  How can we improve our communication to better serve your families/child’s needs?                              

 Update website (2), not sure what is homework (4), return calls, PTA notices out earlier, more patience with their child, more notes sent home, phone call sooner and one to one phone calls. 2 nights for conferences, more one on one, informed a bit more on students progress, powerschool current, Mr. L and R. do a great job, excellent communications, improve communications between counselor and principal.

      If you are not comfortable assisting your child in any of these areas, how can we be of assistance to you? An example would be if you find a particular academic area too challenging.

Not sure how to use PowerSchool (3), tutors available?, send home more practice sheets, a parent’s handbook,  Title available to everyone, MCA samples and practice material (2). Need help in math, classes are too advanced to help, teachers need to be available before and after school, offer tutoring before school, teachers need to be approachable, dislike pigskin, one mailing per family-not multiple, homework help is great, no internet, not sure about standardized tests,  everything is Ok (7)

Suggestions: that’s your job, intro to subjects for parents, help interpreting NWEA/MCA data, stop bullying, math and reading tips newletter, course syllabus, conflict with certain teachers, lack of teachers ability to help all students, entire class not getting it, Is it the teacher? Fix website and Powerschool. I feel that Chisholm does a wonderful job offering potential involvement.  An opportunity to sit in and observe a class.

8.  How would you like to see us enhance our parental involvement opportunities?  We value your opinion. 

Specific duties, more with the website, more with special ed, meet new families, advanced notice, calendar of opportunities, not sure welcome, on-line reading program for the summer months, send a note home stating what and when,  survey is a good idea, schedule events later so working parents can make it, Everyone has been wonderful, Don’t understand standards, Please invite me in, love powerschool, letting parents know what opportunities are available, teachers need to help all students if asked, have more one to one help, teachers talk over the heads of some students.
