Sing, Say, Dance, and Play!

Welcome to music at Vaughan-Steffensrud Elementary! During these years we develop our music-making skills by focusing on basic concepts of rhythm and pitch. Students have the opportunity to perform on the stage of our high school auditorium in two music programs per year.

Our school follows a dress code for our public performances. Boys should wear clean pants or jeans without rips, tears, or holes. Plain polo shirts or button-down shirts are best. Students should not wear t-shirts with printed words or pictures. Gym shoes are acceptable, if they are clean and the laces tie securely. Girls may wear slacks and a plain shirt or blouse. Girls may wear dresses. All dress shoes should have a flat sole for safety.

Upcoming performances:

Due to health issues, I will be taking a medical leave of absence from my teaching position.  As a result, the elementary winter music programs that are normally scheduled for December will be cancelled for 2017.  I apologize for the inconvenience, and I thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
